1. Remake Your Shoes

Remake Your Shoes This is one of the simplest and most fun ways to use leftover glitter. Simply take an old pair of shoes (heels are especially awesome) and brush the surfaces with mod podge glue. Sprinkle the shoes liberally with glitter. Make sure you do this over a trashcan or piece of newspaper. Wait for the glue to dry and repeat as necessary to fill in any open spots. Once the shoes are completely plastered with glitter, go over the entire surface with another layer of mod podge. Allow the shoes to dry thoroughly before wearing them.

2. Make a Wall Hanging

Make a Wall Hanging What wall wouldn’t look good with a bit of bling? To deck out your home and use up excess glitter, grab a cheap canvas at your local craft store. Paint it a bright color and let it dry. Then place a stencil over the canvas and paint the shape with glue. Sprinkle it with glitter and shake off the extra. Presto! A sparkly piece of wall art no one else will have.

3. Make a Vase

Make a Vase If you have a spare jar or plain, boring glass vase lying around, you’re all set. Paint the jar or vase with a liberal coat of glue. Then slather the glue with leftover glitter and shake to remove the excess. Let your new vase dry and fill it with a fantastic arrangement of flowers. Talk about a great new home accessory that’s sure to garner lots of attention!

4. Bling out Your Lampshade

Bling out Your Lampshade Do you have boring lampshades that just need something to make them awesome? Remove the shades and paint the inside with fabric glue, then cover the glue with glitter. Once it’s dry, replace the shade and prepare to be dazzled. The light will toss reflections all over the room. Use colored glue, such as red or blue, to lend your rooms a cozy, warm glow.

5. Revamp Wine Glasses

Revamp Wine Glasses Your friends are going to be so jealous! Make your favorite wine glass sparkle with some leftover glitter. Coat the bottom and stems of the glasses with mod podge and cover them with lots of glitter. Once the glue dries, spray the glitter with a couple coats of clear sealant. This makes the glasses hand washable and holds the glitter in place. This is a great gift for all your friends.

6. Glitter Your Easter Eggs

Glitter Your Easter Eggs Again, pull out your mod podge. Use a small paintbrush to hand design your eggs. You can paint the whole egg, write on it or draw elaborate pictures or designs with the glue. Apply the glitter and shake the eggs to get rid of the extra glitter. Who else can say they have blinged out eggs?

7. Temporary Tattoos

Temporary Tattoos A real tattoo is a big commitment, but a bit of body art is so fun for festive events and celebrations. Use leftover glitter to give yourself a temporary tattoo that will be fun to wear, but won’t require you to turn your body over to a stranger. First, cut your design out of a piece of contact paper. Press it firmly to your skin, and paint your skin with lash glue. Sprinkle on the glitter, wait for a bit for it to dry, then peel off the template. Lightly spray your tattoo with hairspray to keep it in place. Have fun!

Do you love glitter? What will you do with your leftovers?
