5 Tips to Make Your Bedroom a Comfy Sanctuary ...

There are two things that your bedroom should be for: resting and making love! Those two things might be diametrically opposed, but there’s no doubting that they are equally important! When it comes to the sex side of things, that’s all about having the right chemistry with your partner, but as for the rest and relaxation, I have a few tips that could be of use! Here are some simple ways to make your bedroom a comfy sanctuary to enjoy some much needed me time.

1. Soft Carpet

Did you know that you have around 7000 receptors on the soles of your feet? This means that what touches them is very important, so to enhance positive vibes and feelings of comfort you should aim to have as plush and luxurious a carpet as possible. If you can’t afford to fully carpet in this fashion, then a great cheat is to buy a beautiful rug to have in the most walked on area of the room!

2. Seasonal Sheets

Pay attention to the changing of the seasons and make sure that you adjust your sheets accordingly. You will be super cosy and happy with thick cotton sheets in the winter months, but to keep that level of comfort up you will probably want to switch to lighter alternatives when the weather starts to heat up.

3. Light

Don’t close your bedroom off to the outside world; that is a surefire way to make it feel like a prison. Instead, pay attention to your windows and make sure that you dress them beautifully with visually appealing curtains and lovely fabrics. Get into the habit of opening them in the day and then shutting them at night. Don’t leave them drawn all of the time because it sucks the life out of the room.

4. Colour Confidence

When it comes to picking a colour scheme, don’t be afraid to go bold with things like statement walls. You are going to feel the most comfortable in a room that you believe is truly visually appealing, so don’t stick to the tried and tested decor rules of softer colours if you don’t think they fit with your personal style.

5. Streamline Storage

A clear space equals a clear mind, so make sure that your bedroom storage options are ones that, when utilised, result in a really streamlined look. The less busy the space appears, the more comfortable and content you will be when you have the time to relax and unwind in it.
