1. Organize Your Closet
One of the most important spring cleaning tips is to first go through and organize your closet. This may seem like a daunting task because women grow very attached to the things inside their closet no matter the season and often do not want to embark on this task of reorganizing. Putting your closet in order for the spring will not only set you up for easy outfit picks when the weather is nice but it will also encourage you to tackle the rest of the rooms in your house. Start by getting rid of unused fall and spring clothes and only hang the outfits that you KNOW you’re going to wear.
2. Prepare a Cleaning Bucket
Convenience is a friend to all, so why not prepare yourself a nice little cleaning bucket consisting of all the essential tools needed to clean the whole house? The bucket should include: a sponge, an old (unused) toothbrush, a scrub brush, a washcloth, glass-cleaning sprays, disinfecting wipes, and rubber gloves.

3. Change the Mood in Your House
It’s human nature to crave variety so this year try changing the mood around your house by either changing the bedding in your room, rearranging furniture, buying new towels for the bathroom, or changing the décor of the kitchen. Try switching things out seasonally so that the rooms in your house will always give you the necessary feeling of variety in your life.
4. Change the Mood in Your Thoughts
Spring cleaning doesn’t always need to be focused on cleaning out and reorganizing your house – what about cleaning out and reorganizing your thoughts, too? Spring is a time for rebirth, growth, and beauty. Focus in on positive thinking this spring and showering yourself with encouragement, a support system, a new attitude, and a new approach. Maybe there is something you’ve been waiting to start or do for a while – now is the time to spread your wings and fly, girl!
5. Get into a New Routine
In order to change the mood in your house and in your thoughts, you will need to adopt a new routine. Maybe your old lifestyle was keeping you from being happy or feeling clean inside and out. Develop a new routine this year and stick to it. I would suggest making a list of daily activities and chores to keep yourself in check as well as find an accountability partner.

6. Restock on Supplies
New season, new you, new STUFF! If you’ve been hoarding paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies all winter, there is a good chance that you have officially run out of stuff. Now is the perfect time to restock on everything… this time, though, focus on the important things. Don’t restock on a life supply of Ramen noodles! Restock on bottles of water; fruits and veggies, and of course cleaning supplies.
7. Clean out the Fridge
Oh the joy of going through the fridge. Some of you may enjoy cleaning out the fridge (like my roommate) while others may dread the thought (such as myself). My roommate takes pride in organizing and personalizing the shelves of the fridge for the two of us. One sections is designated for drinks while others are for dressings, leftovers, fruits, veggies, and miscellaneous. If you want to be organized this spring, cleaning out your fridge is a must. Prioritizing what to eat every day will keep you in line for eating healthier, just as prioritizing your outfits in your closet will keep you in line for dressing to the nines every day with ease!
8. Make a Home for Everything
If I asked you, “Where is the nail polish remover?” or “What is the drink selection for dinner?” would you be able to answer? If the answer is no then you probably should begin going through all of your things and giving each item a home. Personally I’m a neat freak and have a bit of an OCD problem but I organize everything and it gives me a peace of mind AND it helps me to find whatever I need whenever I need to find it.
9. Grow Your Own Garden
Yet another aspect of spring cleaning is cleaning the outside of your house, too. My goal for this year is to grow my own garden and fix the outside of our condo. I’m looking at it as a great way to get practice and eat healthier too!
I wish you the best of luck on your spring cleaning adventure – I know that these tips will guide you to getting a fresh start on the spring season as well as getting a fresh start on a new you! What are your go-to spring cleaning tricks and tips?
