Now I feel really stupid. Find out why in this video...
After making gift baskets for a quite a while, I was either at the feet of Dollar Tree or Oriental Trading for cellophane bags, having no alternative.
Well, after watching the above video, I learned how to wrap a gift basket using Saran-Wrap, and of course, Saran-Wrap is found in just about every kitchen in the universe!
Why have I never thought of this tip? Have you?
So, now I may make quite a few baskets for a buck using Saran-Wrap (aka: kitchen plastic wrap) instead of the dollar store 2 cellophane bags for a $1.00.
This is what is so nice about YouTube, we learn.
Happy basket wrapping!

- What are some alternatives to cellophane for wrapping gift baskets?
- Oh, there are so many fun options! You can use fabric, burlap, clear gift bags, or even tissue paper. These alternatives can give your basket a unique and personalized touch.
- How do I wrap a gift basket to make it look professional?
- I like to start by arranging the items neatly, then use a sturdy base. After that, wrap the basket in your material of choice, and finish it off with some pretty ribbons or bows. It’s all about the details!
- Can you give me some ideas for a DIY fruit gift basket?
- Absolutely! You can include a mix of fruits, a small bottle of sparkling water, some nuts, and perhaps a jar of honey. Adding a handwritten note or a small bunch of fresh flowers can add that extra special touch.

- A laundry basket can be a bit big and bulky, but start by placing a blanket or large sheet of fabric inside it. Then, fill it with goodies and fold the fabric over the top. Secure it all with a big ribbon or tie at the top. It’s like one giant present!
