1

Make a to-do List

The first step in productivity is making a to-do list of everything that needs to get done. For cleaning your house, make a list based on the order of tasks needing to get accomplished. It's much easier to have a list to refer to and items to check off along the way that will make you feel proactive, organized and less stressed and overwhelmed! One of the best and convenient ways to clean your living space is to first start with a to-do list and go from there.

2

Avoid Cluster Cleaning & Opt for Task Cleaning Instead

Often times, a common cleaning mistake people make is to cluster clean, room by room. The reason this isn't the best method is because it takes a lot more time to get everything done. You can get caught up in deep cleaning one area while neglecting another and getting overwhelmed by all the tasks in one room alone. Instead, focus on one task at a time, such as wiping down all the surfaces in your house. You will be focused and can move on quickly to the next task.

3

Start with Dusting

Dusting is a good place to start because you can't clean properly with dust accumulation everywhere. Start up high because dust falls onto lower surfaces and causes you to need to re-dust certain areas. Don't forget those pesky high spots like the top of picture frames and fan blades.

4

Fresh Linens in All Rooms

Changing the sheets on all your beds and adding fresh towels to each bathroom is an easy, quick way to clean and freshen up your home. Straighten pillows, flatten out bedding and wipe down cracks and crevices in furniture that collect dust and dirt particles.

5

Do Mirrors & Glass

Go throughout your entire house and clean all the mirrors and glass surfaces. You'll be surprised at how quickly you can get this done and at the same time, feel like you've cleaned a large area. Mirrors and glass can get dingy quickly and it's easy to see the difference once they have been cleaned. Microfiber works really well and won't leave streaks. Plus, you won't be wasting a ton of paper towels and needing to cart them around the whole house.

Men in general judge more from appearances than from reality. All men have eyes, but few have the gift of penetration.

Clean All Surfaces

Next, you can stick to wiping down and disinfecting all surfaces in your house. This includes countertops, door frames, handles, knobs, and inner surfaces like bathtubs, microwaves, ovens and refrigerators. Because inner surfaces can take a long time to clean, you can spray them down while cleaning simpler surfaces in the meantime, or you could just leave those hard jobs for another day when you have added help.

7

Sweep, Mop & Vacuum Last

Leave sweeping, mopping and vacuuming for last because as you clean, particles will fall on the floor. Sweep first, then mop the bathroom and wood floors, leaving vacuuming at the very end. I don't know about you but vacuuming always leaves everything looking totally clean and fresh. You can even add carpet fresheners like dried lavender that leave behind a fresh, clean scent.

If you're in the right mindset and have a great plan of attack, you can easily clean your entire house from top to bottom in only a few hours! And bonus, it's an amazing calorie burner. Do you have any other convenient cleaning tips you would like to add?

Where Thoughts and Opinions Converge

It took me 10 hours to clean the storage room in our house (which became a room that we dumped a bunch of random stuff in) and although i was exhausted at the end i felt like a huge weight had been lifted (both physically and psychologically). cleaning up and getting organized is so important for your health and happiness!
