1. Beach Flip
Whether or not you’re renovating a beach house, Beach Flip is a great show to watch if you’re a beginner when it comes to home renovation. Although you might get slightly annoyed when they’re getting all of their furniture for free (do you want to sponsor me, Joss and Main?), all of the contestants on this show are beginners just like you. Often, when you’re watching renovation TV shows, it’s easy to watch professionals renovate houses with ease and convince yourself that you can do it with little to no problems as well. Beach Flip is a nice step back down to reality!
2. Property Brothers
Property Brothers are most people’s first foray into home renovation shows, and that’s with reason. All of the houses that they design are absolutely gorgeous, especially when you see what they paid for both the house and the renovation. Their sibling rivalry is just a fun extra!
Frequently asked questions
3. Brother Vs. Brother
If one of your favorite aspects of any of the Property Brothers’ shows are their sibling rivalry, Brother vs. Brother may be for you. I don’t know about you, but one of my biggest pet peeves when watching the original Property Brothers is when they only renovate a few rooms in the house. That’s not the case with Brother vs. Brother, though, because both brothers buy a house and renovate it to see who can sell it for the most money. Seeing them renovate an entire house is much more helpful when you’re also renovating your entire house!
4. Fixer Upper
If you’re a design lover, there’s a pretty good chance that you’re already addicted to Fixer Upper. If you aren’t just yet, it’s pretty similar to the Property Brothers, however Joanna and Chip Gaines are located in Waco, Texas, and the gorgeous homes they design always have a little bit of southern flair to show for it!
5. Flip or Flop
Flip or Flop is one of the most addicting home renovation shows out there, and they may just convince you to start your own house flipping business. Tarek and Christina El Moussa flip houses in the Southern California area, and although the journey isn’t always pretty, the outcome is always absolutely stunning!

6. Color Splash
Color Splash spent a few months on Netflix, so here’s hoping it’ll come back into our Netflix queues sooner rather than later! If you’re a David Bromstead fan (who isn’t?) you probably can’t get enough of his amazing design style, and that’s no exception on his show Color Splash, where he adds color to drab rooms in people’s houses!
7. Rehab Addict
Nicole Curtis is one of the coolest women on HGTV. She’s from Detroit and is constantly rehabilitating houses in areas that most people wouldn’t consider living in and turning them into absolute masterpieces. If you’re looking for a show about keeping what you already have and making it look brand new, this is the show for you!
