1. You Can Use It to Treat Acne
In my opinion, one of the most surprising ways you can use oatmeal is to treat acne. Here is how you do it: you just have to let it cool and then just spread it all over your problem skin. Next, you have to let it wait for approximately 10 minutes and then rinse. A lot of research has shown that oatmeal can absorb oil and bacteria from your skin and you can also use it to exfoliate. You can add a bit of tree tea oil and honey and you will obtain an amazing facial mask.
2. It Helps Your Diet
One of the most amazing uses of oatmeal is the fact that it helps your diet. You can do this by replacing all flour with homemade oat flour by grinding oats in a processor for baking cookies and quick bread. This way, you will feel fuller with fewer calories. I think that foods made with oat flour taste amazing so why not give it a try?
3. IT CALMS down ITCHY SKIN
Oatmeal can even help calm down your itchy skin if things like chicken pox, sunburn or even poison ivy make your skin itch like crazy. Just grind the oats or the oat flour into a pretty fine powder, pour it into cheesecloth (or you can even use an old piece of pantyhose or a tube sock) and then simply tie it loosely around your bathtub faucet as you draw a tepid bath.
4. IT MOISTURIZES and RELAXES YOUR SKIN
Another wonderful benefit of oatmeal is that it can help relieve stress by moisturizing and relaxing your skin. You can take an oatmeal bath and here is how you do this: you simply add a cup of milk, two cups of oats and one tablespoon of honey to your bath. You can also use some scented oils if you want.

5. IT’S an EXERCISE BOOSTER
If you didn’t know already, oatmeal is actually one of the best exercise boosters. Just eat some oatmeal pancakes and you’ll feel more energized and more willing to exercise. Researchers have actually found that oatmeal can boost your endurance if you eat it about two hours before your workout and that oats will trigger your body to burn fat more quickly in order to fuel your muscles.

6. YOU CAN USE IT to MAKE a REJUVENATING FACIAL MASK
Oatmeal has so many wonderful properties! Among them, one of the most important one is also the fact that it’s good for ailing skin. If you want to make an amazing rejuvenating facial mask just blend a half cup hot water with 1/3 cup oatmeal for three or four minutes, then simply add two tablespoons of honey and yogurt and an egg white. Spread that entire composition on your face, relax for 10-15 minutes and then simply rinse it off with warm water.
7. YOU CAN MAKE OATMEAL SCRUB or OATMEAL SOAP
If you want to use a natural alternative to your regular soap or scrub, you could try making them using oatmeal. Just grind two tablespoons of oatmeal into a powder in a blender, then just add one tablespoon of baking soda and some water to make a thick paste. You simply have to apply it on your clean and dry skin, leave it for 15 minutes and rinse it afterwards. You should do a patch test first, in case your skin is sensitive to baking soda.
Oatmeal is an amazing product and it has so many wonderful benefits! Do you know any other surprising ways to use oatmeal? Do tell!
