1. Knowing How to Reset the Fuse Box ๐ฆ Will Come in Handy
Oh, this was a fun one 1๏ธโฃ -- the first time ๐ that our house's power ๐ was cut ๐ฌ out and the first time ๐ that we blew a fuse, with no ๐ซ idea ๐ญ what caused it or how to fix ๐ง it. Seriously, this is one 1๏ธโฃ that you'll need to know. First, locate your fuse box, typically in a closet ๐ or in the basement. After that, just play โถ๏ธ with a few switches or even see if there are any directions on ๐ how you can reset it. You'll thank yourself for knowing this when the power โ is out or you blow ๐ข a fuse.
Knowing how to reset the fuse box is an important DIY repair skill every woman should have. It is important to locate the fuse box first, which is often in a closet or in the basement. If the power goes out or a fuse is blown, the fuse box needs to be reset. The process of resetting the fuse box involves playing with a few switches and following any directions that may be present. It is important to be familiar with the process of resetting the fuse box as it can be a real time saver in the event of a power outage or blown fuse.
2. Patching Holes is an Easy DIY Task for Your Wheelhouse
We all put holes in the wall. It is just something that happens and even though most of the time, my dad ๐จ fixes it, I learned that he isn't always going ๐ฃ to be here ๐ (my parents ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ง live in a different state), so I want to understand how to patch a hole โซ properly. Sure, there is a way to do it that doesn't look ๐ great, but โฆ I wanted to learn ๐ how to patch a hole โซ correctly and make it smooth.
3. Leaky Faucets Are No ๐ซ Match for Your Know-how
Oh, this is another one 1๏ธโฃ that is super fun to learn ๐ via FaceTime with your dad. My faucet ๐ง in the kitchen was leaking and I had absolutely no ๐ idea ๐ญ how to fix ๐ง it. If you've ever had this problem, it is easy to fix ๐ง and it is absolutely something that a girl ๐ง๐ป should know how to do. We don't need a guy ๐จ to fix ๐ง our faucets, girls, we got this!
4. For Your Sanity, Learn ๐ How to Take ๐ฌ Apart and Unclog Your Vacuum
While I think that a man ๐ณ should also learn ๐ this, in my house ๐ฃ this is something that falls on ๐ me. My wife tends to clog up ๐ the vacuum and then she leaves ๐ it for me to find when it's my turn ๐ฒ to vacuum. While it is annoying, I have become quite great ๐ at unclogging and really fixing the vacuum when it won't suck anything up.
5. You Can't Survive without Knowing How to Unclog Your Sink
Before we bought a house, Heather and I really had a hard time โ with a lot of the sinks and the bathtub ๐ that we use. She has hair ๐ that tends to fall ๐ out a little more than mine and in general, when you have two 2๏ธโฃ girls ๐ญ constantly showering and constantly having hair ๐ everywhere, it happens. We actually invested in one 1๏ธโฃ of the little zip things that you slip down ๐ฃ the drain and pull up ๐ all of the hair. It works great!
6. Fixing Scuffs in the Floor is Simple, but Such a Big ๐ Help
A walnut. That is all you need to fix ๐ง all of the scratches and scuffs in the floor in most cases. Seriously, I tried it when we first 1๏ธโฃ moved in and it worked so great! Also, knowing how to stain? That's another thing that I think all ladies ๐บ should learn, it can not only work ๐ for doors but for floors too!
7. Figure โฌ out How to Hook up ๐ Your Own ๐ถ Appliances
Ahaha, sorry, this one 1๏ธโฃ brings up ๐ a story. We were renting an apartment ๐ข and our washer broke. No ๐ worries, our landlord bought a new ๐ one 1๏ธโฃ and had one of his sons hook it up. The guy ๐จ hooked it up ๐ backward, so the hot โ๏ธ was cold โ๏ธ and the cold was hot. He also never turned on ๐ the washer water. So, that's how Heather and I learned how to do it and it is so, so important for you to learn ๐ too!
So, now that you know what you need to do, it might be a good ๐ idea ๐ก to watch ๐บ some tutorials via Youtube or even just educate yourself. You don't need a man! Keep that in mind. Now, what other repairs for you think you need?
