Have you ever been in the place where you want to redecorate but you’re short on funds? Most of us have. Don’t give up if you’re in this spot. There are still ways you can redecorate without spending a single penny.
1 Repurpose What You Already Have
One way to redecorate without spending any money is to repurpose what you already have. Pull out that extra throw you keep at the bottom of your bed and use it to cover the back of your love seat. Pull a basket out from under the sink and use it to catch your keys when you walk in the door. Repurposing is a way to find a new use for something you already have. You’d be surprised how many things you can repurpose once you give it some thought.
2 Swap Your Decor out
Tired of the wall décor in your living room? Swap it with your office wall art. You probably don’t see your office wall art as often as you do your living room art. This gives you a new look without spending any money. You can do this with different rooms of your home.
3 Trade with Friends
I’ve actually done this. If your friend has something that you absolutely love in their home then make a comment on it. They’ll probably have some kind of reply that lets you know how much they love that particular piece of home décor. If they don’t seem too awfully attached to it, that lets you know the door might be open for a swap. Let them know you’re interested if they’d ever like to trade for something you have.
4 Get Crafty
Most of us are craftier than we give ourselves credit for. And if you really feel like you’re lacking in this skill then the AWS DIY section is for you diy.allwomenstalk.com. It’s full of ideas you can use to create things for your home. You probably have a lot of things in your home that you could use to make decorative accents. Even soup and coffee cans can be used to make things.
5 Accept Hand-me-downs
When you know someone’s giving away something in the home decorating department, don’t be so quick to say no. Keep your eyes and ears opened for things others area passing on down the line. It could be furniture, décor, or other things for your home that you could get for free. Your family is usually one source for hand-me-down things for your home. I know my family does this.
6 Look for Old Paint
Never throw paint cans away, even if they’ve only got a little bit left in them. You can use old paint for your craft projects. Actually, there’re a lot of uses for old paint. You may be able to paint another room with leftover paint. If you don’t have enough for that, there are still other things you can do with it.
7 Rearrange Your Furniture
Rearranging your furniture can give a room a new look. It only takes a few minutes and it’s very noticeable. It’s also a good opportunity to sweep out the dust bunnies that tend to gather under furniture. I always feel better after I rearrange a room. It meets my need for a change of scenery.
