Trash Can

Trash Can Trash cans are definitely one of those things you should clean frequently. Even though we use a trash bag in them, they still get yucky. Trash cans are also filled with germs and bacteria. It's always a good idea clean your trash can inside and out each time you take out the garbage. Don't forget to clean the lid, as well. Trash can lids are just as dirty as the cans because we touch them with our hands, and the trash touches them as well.

Dishwasher

Dishwasher For the first six years of my marriage, I didn't have a dishwasher, so when my family moved into a house that had one, I was ecstatic. Even though I am so thankful for my dishwasher, cleaning it is not a favorite task of mine. I tend to put it off for as long as possible. But I have learned that if I clean my dishwasher often, it washes my dishes much better. Dishwashers are actually fairly easy to clean. I like using dishwasher cleaning products that can be picked up at places like Walmart and Target for under $5. They are easy to use and do a good job.

Bed Pillows

Bed Pillows Most people wash their sheets on a regular basis. Unfortunately, some of them forget to clean their pillows, too. While you may not need to wash your pillows as often as your sheets, they still need to be cleaned. According to marthastewart.com, bed pillows should be cleaned at least twice per year. Many types of pillows can be cleaned by washing them in the washer. You can either let them air dry, which will take awhile, or you can put them in the dryer.

Bathroom Mats

Bathroom Mats Bathroom mats and rugs are a great addition to any bathroom. They look nice and keep your feet warm when you get out of the shower. But bathroom mats can be a place for germs to hide and for bacteria and mold to grow. If your bathroom mat is used by several family members, it should be cleaned about once per week. Of course, mats that are rarely used can be cleaned less frequently.

Phones

Phones Most of us have our phones with us most of the time. We constantly talk, text, and browse the web. We also put them down on multiple surfaces in stores and restaurants. We also touch our phones after touching things like money and doorknobs. Unfortunately, many of us forget that our phones are full of germs and that we need to clean them.

Computer Keyboard

Computer Keyboard Most people use their computer on a regular basis. They eat while they browse the web and they touch the keyboard before and after they touch other things. If you're wondering how often most people clean their keyboard, the answer is, not very often. Most people don't clean their computer's keyboard on a regular basis. Honestly, some people have never cleaned their computer's keyboard.

Laundry Baskets

Laundry Baskets How often do you clean your laundry baskets? To be honest, this is one area that I neglect. I now see that I shouldn't. Think about it. We put dirty clothes in our laundry baskets, we wash the laundry, then put the clean laundry back into the dirty basket. Laundry baskets are fairly easy to clean. Disinfectant wipes or vinegar and water are great products to use to clean your laundry baskets.

Sometimes it can be difficult to determine how often you should clean certain items. What are some of the items that you feel we need to clean more often? Are there any items that you've neglected to clean in the past?
