2. Create a Color Palette with at Least 4 Colors

It may sound too easy to be true but matching the colors of your furniture and decor is the easiest way to create a designer look in your home.

Look around your home at your current décor and determine what you can’t part with. Those items will make it easier to choose the colors for your color palette. Try choosing colors that complement each other. If possible, stick to the same 1 or 2 similar colors of wood furniture.

Choose 2 -3 accent colors (table top, window coverings and wall décor), and 2-3 base colors (furniture), for your color palette.

You can replace or re-stain woods that don’t match. Paint can also help you to incorporate décor items that don’t match your color palette.
