7 Easy Yet Wonderful DIY Bathroom Organizers to Try ...

When you have a small bathroom, and a LOT of makeup and products, you definitely need some bathroom organizers! Here are a few incredibly easy DIY solutions for you. I have zero storage space in my bathroom so for the past two years, since I moved into my husband’s apartment, our entire bathroom has been littered with all of my makeup, hair spray, mousse, creams, body washes, shampoos, conditioners…you get the idea. Our bathroom counter could barely be seen beneath all of my accessories. Within the past several months I’ve been revamping our entire bathroom, trying to organize and store things in a way that keeps them readily available and pleasant looking, yet up off the counter. I hope these bathroom organizers will help you do the same!

Magnetic Makeup Board

Product, Cosmetics, Mirror, Room, Circle, I had a small magnetic makeup board before, but when I made all of my new bathroom organizers I decided to make a new, oversized board. I bought some zinc sheet metal at Home Depot for $19.99. It is 3 feet tall by 2 feet wide because I basically have enough makeup to open my own makeup store and I’d like to be able to see it all without digging through everything I have. You can get much much cheaper sheet metal in smaller sizes. You can even use cookie sheets! I used Mod Podge to adhere some pretty fabric I bought for $2 at a craft store, but you can also use wrapping paper if you coat it afterwards, or scrapbook paper. I bought several packs of extremely strong yet small magnets for $3.50 per 12 pack at Home Depot and used a hot glue gun to attach one magnet to the back of each makeup item. I tore the label off of a prescription bottle and attached two magnets to it to store small things like my makeup brushes, as well as things I replace fairly often, like my eyeliner. That way I wouldn't be wasting magnets on those things. If you have leftover magnets, line the bottom of your board with them because you can use them to hold your bobby pins and hair clips!

Extra Shower Curtain Rod

Bathroom, Tile, White, Shelf, Room, The moment I found out about this phenomenal organization technique I went out and bought myself a second shower rod. My shower is horrible, there are no alcoves to store shampoos, razors or anything and the over the showerhead organizers wouldn’t work with our type of shower. But this idea is amazing! You simply put a new shower rod up on the inside wall of your shower and hang a few baskets from rings. I have never been so in love with an idea! This works wonderfully, just make sure your baskets have holes or slits in them so the water can drain out. You can place it at any height that suits you, which is another plus!

Repurposed Spice Rack

Shelf, White, Room, Shelving, Furniture, You can find old spice racks at garage sales or buy a new one for fairly cheap. Give it a nice coat of paint if you’d like or decorate it with a few scrapbooking decals. They make the perfect rack for holding your many, many nail polishes and Mani Pedi accessories!

4

Hair Styler Storage

Pink, Beauty, Skin, Lipstick, Cheek, At home improvement stores, like Home Depot or Lowe's, you can pick up some PVC pipes in various widths and have them cut to the lengths you’d like. That takes away half the work of this entire project, yay! Attach them in any way you’d like. I prefer Velcro simply because it’s pretty strong and non-permanent. Just make sure to check the widths of your styling implements before you buy the pipes! You can attach them to your wall, the back of your door or the door of a cabinet.

5

Over the Door

Shelf, Product, Bathroom accessory, Towel, Room, When you are stuck in a small space, you have to turn every available inch into a functional area. A massively overlooked empty space is the foot or so right above the door! Put up a nice, sturdy shelf and store any number of things from your stock-up supplies of shampoos and conditioners to towels and washcloths. If you don’t have a linen closet, make a linen shelf!

Product Placement

Shelf, Product, Bathroom accessory, Shelving, Furniture, We’ve already seen what one style of spice rack can do for our nail polish organization, now take a look at how this style can help you keep your hair products, body sprays and all of your other beauty supplies organized and readily accessible. You can buy them from IKEA, but they are too pricey, in my opinion ($14.50 each), so look for knock-offs at Family Dollar or Walmart. Screw them securely into the wall and load them up with all those bottles you have gathered around your sink!

Towel Bar

Shelf, Shelving, Furniture, Table, Room, Like I said before, if you don’t have a linen closet, make your own linen storage areas! Install a couple of cheap towel bars and pick up several sizes of storage baskets that match your bathroom décor (or black, black goes with everything)! Stream some ribbon through the basket and tie it around the bars to hang the baskets up. You can keep your fresh towels stored nice and neat right near your shower.

Incorporate all of these creative storage ideas into your bathroom and soon enough it will be in perfect order! You won’t believe all of the room you will gain by implementing just a few of these things! How do you organize your bathroom?
