Spend Snowy Days Knitting with These Pretty Patterns ...

Knitting is one of my favorite hobbies and I think I enjoy it most during the winter. It's the perfect task when you're curled up in a blanket or sitting in front of a fire. You probably know plenty of people who need scarves, gloves, blankets, slippers, sweaters, and hats in the winter, but even if you have a surplus, you can donate the excess. I've got a few projects on my must-knit list for the winter and I thought I'd share it with my fellow knitters, just in case you're looking for something new, too!

You can never have too many scarves, but if you happen to have too many, then you might as well make a few fashion scarves that also serve a function. This one makes a great gift, FYI.

Reversible Cabled Blanket

I love knitted blankets! This one looks so cozy.

3

Downton Abbey Hat

There's never a bad time for a hat. There's never a bad time for "Downton Abbey." And so.

4

Honeylicious Sweater

This is actually a great sweater for a beginner knitter. Sweaters are difficult, yeah, but this pattern is fun and fairly easy to follow.

5

Easy-Peasy Leg Warmers

The name says it all! Since leg warmers and boot cuffs are oh so very on trend at the moment and since you can size these to fit anyone, I'd say this is a must-knit pattern, too.

Sprigs Scarf

This is like handmade haute couture, but it's wonderfully uncomplicated.

7

Chevron Blanket

Call me basic, but I still love chevron as an accent pattern. I'm particularly obsessed with chevron blankets, so there you go.

8

Regina Hat

This is the way to wear a knit cap. This one's an eventual goal for me, I'm not quite there yet. Could you make this?

9

Fox Scarf

This is included because it is the most adorable thing ever.

10

Simple Pleasures Hat

So, yeah, I've got a lot of hats on my goal list. I've got to figure out the whole knitting in the round thing first.

Japanese Feather Stole

This is unbelievably pretty and dedicated. It's not easy, no, but this scarf is so versatile. It's light enough for the spring and summer, plus you could layer it with heavier scarves in the fall and winter.

Cloche Divine

What can I say? Besides, I've rarely met a cloche I didn't like.

Practical and pretty! I have to knit some of these for @Heather.

Ditto these. Let's also take a moment to appreciate that phrase. "Wrist mittens." Adorable.

Double Chevron Lace Scarf

What? I told you. Though I must confess that I like the pattern more than the color.

Lucy Hat

This is way too sophisticated for me right now, but oh, someday. Someday.

Same with these. Love those buttons!

So, what have you got on your needles?

So lovely, but my knitting technique is terrible 😕. I really need to put aside some time to learn properly... Anyone know any good sites?
