BEDAZZLE!!

BEDAZZLE!! Make your DIY college backpack a real eye-catcher will a little or a lot of bling bling. Bedazzling has officially been around for at least a decade. But unofficially, I think it’s been around for centuries. You could really take bedazzling in any direction. All you need for this project is super glue/ tacky glue and bedazzles (fake jewels). Simply dab a small dot of glue in the middle of your gem. Then place the gem immediately in its spot.

Add That Bow

Add That Bow Adding a bow is a simple and cute way to spruce up your backpack. The most common spot for a bow is the top handle of your backpack. However, just about anywhere of your backpack would look great. Do not be afraid get that big outlandish bow and pop it on to your backpack. It’ll look great. Just use pre-made bows or make them yourself, and sew them where you please.

Patchy Artwork

Patchy Artwork This is one of my favorites. I love it when people sew on patches of fabric to their backpacks. Sometimes it just looks so bohemian. If done right, this can really show off your personality and creativity. You only need patches of fabric and a small sewing kit. Place the fabric in its desired space then sew along its edges.

Bubble Paint... Bubble Paint!

Bubble Paint... Bubble Paint! This is another easy craft. For this project, all you need is your backpack and the bubble paint. The paint can be found at any craft store, even Wal-Mart. Simply lie your backpack down on a flat surface. Then paint freely. Don’t use too much paint at once. Allow your backpack about 24-48 hours to completely dry.

Decoupage

Decoupage This crafty form has been around for ages. People love it because it is super simple. I recommend that you use a plain backpack with very little décor and pockets. You will need small pieces of really stiff fabric and strong tacky or gorilla glue. Add the fabric by smoothing glue all over one side and pressing it flat onto your backpack. As you add more pieces, make sure they slightly overlap the last piece until section or backpack is covered. Be sure not to get your backpack wet!

Studs Are Hip

Studs Are Hip Studs are always a cool way to DIY your gear. While there are some that you must really pin and tack in to place, there are a variety of options that you can explore. There are some that are iron-on. You just put it in place, place a small towel over it, then press and iron atop of it. Other you can super glue into place.

“I Mustache You a Question”

“I Mustache You a Question” One of the trendiest options is to add a mustache. You can get fabric, cut into the shape of a ‘tache, then sew in too. Perhaps sewing is outside of your nature. Don’t worry. Many craft store sell mustache stickers. You could stick them on with or without the aid of a little glue.

You should just have fun with this project. Let you inhibitions go and really get creative. There are no limits on what you can do. Just make sure as it fits you. Which DIY will you try?

I love the MOUSTACHE backpack. It even has a pipe if you count the zipper. Sir

Cute!

Perhaps it is a \'quirk\' of where I went to school and where I taught - but the studded bag would be banned (potential use as offensive weapon) and the bow one would get you beaten up! The others are nice though

I might try some

Ha, I like the mustache one ;)

Adorable!

The bubble paint looks cool to try but you can go wrong with studs!
