Ribbon

Ribbon Looking for a DIY holiday greeting card holder that will be very easy to stash away come January? Then this ribbon idea is for you. Aside from the easy storage factor, this craft project is fantastic because you can design/embellish it in so many ways.

Wood Pallet + Twine Star

Wood Pallet + Twine Star This particular DIY Christmas card holder is not as easy to store as the first but it's a wonderful idea nonetheless. I love this because it's a great way to recycle wood pallets. Of course, if you can't find wood pallets, you can also use wood from the hardware store nearest you.

Wire Frame

Wire Frame This is probably one of the easiest ways to display your Christmas cards this season. Take a photo frame, remove the backing, attach wires like a clothesline, and clip the cards to said wire using wooden clips. Easy and affordable!

Patchwork Tree

Patchwork Tree How cute! If you happen to have lots of scrap fabrics in reds, greens, and Christmas prints, you will want to consider making this tree-shaped card holder. The base used for the tutorial was plywood but if you're making a slightly smaller version I think cardboard will work, too.

Painted Canvas

Painted Canvas Pre-stretched canvases come in many sizes. Get a good-sized square or rectangular one, paint it in a Christmas motif, and hot glue clips along the border. The link below is not a tutorial but you can easily replicate the idea using materials found at the craft store.

Yardstick

Yardstick Isn't this a clever way to display greeting cards? This is similar to some of the wooden Christmas trees I wrote about a few days ago. But instead of ornaments, you will be decorating your finished wooden piece with holiday greeting cards.

Mod Podged Clothespins

Mod Podged Clothespins This is a fairly simple DIY holiday greeting card holder but the result is all sorts of adorable. What you need are acrylic paint, patterned paper, buttons, Mod Podge, hot glue, and up to 5 yards of ribbon. Basically, you will decoupage and paint the clips, embellish with buttons, and then use them to clip the cards to the ribbon. Display like a garland.

Ribbon II

This is a much simpler version of the first DIY greeting card holder I mentioned here. In fact, with this project, you will simply attach ribbon strips to your walls using thumbtacks, tape cards to the ribbon using double-sided tape, and that's it.

Chicken Wire Frame

Chicken Wire Frame This is similar to the wire frame DIY card holder but instead of horizontal wire, you will be framing chicken wire. Use wooden clothespins to clip cards to the chicken wire.

One of my family traditions as a kid was to drape a clothesline from one corner of a room to another and hang the cards on them. Works best with a high ceiling and lots of cards.
