Playing Cards Banner

Playing Cards Banner This should be on the top of your Valentine’s Day crafts list if your little one is just starting to count numbers. A banner using playing cards will help your kids learn how to count as they set the numbers on the string in order from 1 to 10 or greater, depending on how long you want your Valentine’s Day banner to be! Check out this tutorial over on notimeforflashcards.com for a complete how to.

Heart Jar

Heart Jar I have a confession to make…I probably haven’t used mod podge since grade school, gasp! I’ve seen so many crafts using it lately and would love to try some of them. I love this adorable decoupage heart jar over on starsandsunshine.com, it’s a pretty simple idea to put together with your older kids for Valentine’s Day. So, do they still call it decoupage when using mod podge, or did that word go out in the '80s?

Valentine Monsters

Valentine Monsters You can use a few different craft supplies to make Valentine Monsters, but one requirement is that they have to be cute...not scary! If you Google “Love or Valentine Monster” or go on Pinterest, you will see tutorials using little pom poms, yarn, and even paper to create sweet little monsters that you kids can share with their friends or keep for themselves! I love this DIY Valentine love monster over at createcraftlove.com that uses pom poms, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, and foam heart stickers to make a new friend for your little one!

Heart Necklace

Heart Necklace Instead of baking cookies for Valentine’s Day, why not have your little ones help you bake their very own heart necklace?! I found this creative idea over on amazingmae.blogspot.com; blogger Traci uses salt, flour, and water to make Valentine hearts and pokes a little hole in them before baking for the necklace. After her daughter paints them, she sprays them with a protective sealant. You can also turn the hearts into magnets if you want to make a gift for grandparents. Check out the tutorial and tell me what you think.

Paper Roll Owl

Paper Roll Owl You know I had to include an owl Valentine’s Day craft on my list. I’ve seen a few of these paper roll owl tutorials before, and just love how easy they are to put together. There is a really cute tutorial over on happyclippings.com that is perfect for Valentine’s Day. Blogger Debbie uses mod podge to paste on heart scrapbook paper to decorate the tube roll and then cuts out little heart shapes for the wings. Adorable! I think I’ll be saving up some paper rolls to make this one.

Valentine’s Day Countdown

Valentine’s Day Countdown Who says Christmas is the only holiday that gets a cute calendar countdown? A craft like this one can help your kids learn the days of the week and how to count, all while having fun. You can write little messages inside envelopes and create a sweet little heart calendar countdown like this one over on apumpkinandaprincess.com. Or you can use little boxes like this tutorial over on momandwife.com to include little surprises and treats! I love the idea of the little messages, it’s a great way to show your kids how much they are loved and thought of each and every day.

Valentine’s Day Heart Tree

Valentine’s Day Heart Tree If you are in need of more decor for your Valentine’s Day party, this craft idea is a great one to put together with your kids. I’ve seen many of these cone tree DIY crafts put together for Christmas holidays before, but this is the first one I am seeing made for Valentine’s Day. I love the idea of creating the cone using craft paper instead of buying those foam cones. It’s a great way to show your kids how to use supplies you already have around the house; a little creativity, colored paper, glue, and scissors, and you have yourself a heart filled Valentine’s Day tree! Check out the complete tutorial over on igottacreate.blogspot.com.

I love all of these adorable Valentine’s Day crafts, and I bet your kids will love all of them too! So, which idea is your favorite that you’ll be making this year?
